Sixteenth Finance Commission in collaboration with Janaagraha organized a day long conference on Strengthening Urban Local Governments in India at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on 26th November 2024. Conference saw the participation of representatives from various Urban Local Bodies across India sharing their views on the issues concerning the Local Governments to gain an understanding of the main challenges and pathways in public financial management including access to and utilization of FC grants & decentralized participatory governance in India’s cities.
